As a rural practice we offer an enhanced urgent care service to avoid the long journey to the emergency department at hospital as much as possible. Our doctors and nurses are fully trained and equipped to handle many accident and emergency situations. We have a dedicated duty doctor and nurse team every day to attend to emergencies and acutely sick children and adults.

We try to minimise the risk of catching viral infections including COVID 19 by running a separate pathway for patients with respiratory symptoms including coughs and colds. Most are dealt with over the phone and those that need to be seen are seen in a cabin accessed from the back carpark. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING IF YOU HAVE RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS.

We work closely with the local ambulance service to advise or treat patients to whom they have been called.

Katikati Medical Centre is a registered ACC provider which means we can can lodge ACC claims for appropriate injuries and provide or refer for treatment covered by ACC at a reduced cost to patients.
